Ted Mentry and his band released two albums in the early eighties to high critical acclaim, (Illustrated Victims in 1981 and Artful Dodger in 1984) and quickly became the darlings of the Rocky Mountain music scene. After constant touring and a relentless live schedule, Ted Mentry, who had opened for everyone from Firefall to Lynyrd Skynyrd, abruptly disbanded the group and disappeared from the circuit and remained an enigma for more than 15 years.

Ted Mentry is back and better than ever and what transpired during this extended hiatus seems clearly documented in Get A Life , the incredible new CD which was released with a Laser show and reception at the Fiske Planetarium on the CU campus on Dec. 10th ,2000 to a standing ovation and rave reviews.

Ted Mentry is a dynamic singer, songwriter and extraordinary guitarist who blends electronic samples and programs with conventional instrumentation to create classic compositions with passionate, unforgettable musical and lyrical integrity.

Get A Life is 12 songs and 65 minutes that encompass a unique blend of modern and conventional accompaniment which showcases beautifully crafted melodies that epitomize musicianship, production, songwriting and arrangement capabilities with unsurpassed passion and vision.

It Is What It Is was released to a standing room only, sellout house at Nissi's Showcase Cabaret in Lafayette, CO on July 26th, 2006 and is a continuation of that craft and passion for music but, this time, with an interesting twist; the captivating and dynamic singer, Allison Hawkins handling 90% of the vocal chores!

Ted Mentry is now working on, yet, another personal CD with Allison Hawkins and, in the interim, has filled the guitar chair in the rock opera, "Magdalene, Woman Of Light" staged at the Denver Civic Theater in October, 2008 and monopolized much of the musical score in the full length, feature film, "The Highway Home."

Ted Mentry has played with and/or opened for Firefall, Boz Skaggs, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Shawn Phillips, Pat Travers, Chris Hillman, Y&T, Foghat, Winger and countless other "name" acts across the country.
Ted Mentry has Produced over 30 different projects including 10 albums of his own.

Electric and Acoustic flat and various finger picking styles with a forte in rock, blues, funk, Latin, new-age and  some bluegrass, folk and country acquired through 30 years of playing and studying with the likes of Bill Lawrence, Dale Bruning and others.

Romantic , orchestral movements in the vein of Hans Zimmer,, Mannheim Steamroller, James Horner and Pink Floyd.
