The Planets was designed and originated by Ted Mentry, Colorado's very own veteran, guitarist, producer, writer and musical visionary. This idea was conceived based on a mutual need by working musicians and the venues who need those musicians. The challenge, however, was to incorporate a musical ensemble that could play and satisfy a 10,000 seat arena as well as a small, intimate club or party with the same quality of material and consistency of presentation. This is done by a simple method: Find the best possible supporting musicians available and put a song list and stage show together that incorporates both of the best dance cover songs familiar to the public and the finest original material offered by Ted Mentry, from albums and CD's successfully published and released over the past 20 years.
The Planets is a musical entity designed for the sole purpose of meeting the musical needs of clubs, concerts, parties, weddings, showcases, or special events that fall into the categories of fun, power blues, rock and roll or dance-oriented rhythm and soul.

The Virtual Band
Where the venue is limited by space, volume, budget or personal preference, another format is used in a unique way without sacrificing the quality of material or presentation. Thus, The Virtual Band.
All of the material performed by the multi -piece band have been pre-recorded in the studio and the rhythm tracks, without guitar and vocals, are used on hard disk, piped through the sound system as the "beds" or rhythm tracks for a solo, duo or trio presentation. Same material, less people. A simple solution for small venues who want big sound.
